The Great Plastic Tide

This graphic was published in Volume Magazine #31 Guilty Landscapes. In three sections: revelations, confessions, and atonement, the issue presents a global scan of large-scale guilty landscapes and our design relation to them.

The Great Plastic Tide is a true representative of a tragedy of the commons, giant swirling gyres of plastic debris are amassing in our oceans, mostly the product of beach pollution from around the world. As the graphic shows, there is no single culprit, rather it is the product of a worldwide phenomenon of mass plastic consumption and improper disposal.

Trait Theory

In psychology, Trait-Theory is a major approach to the study of human personality. Trait-Theorists are primarily interested in the measurement of traits, which can be defined as habitual patterns of behavior, thought, and emotion. This series of fictitious charts tries to visualize the changing emotions of a persons psyche.
These models would ultimately be used to create a new type of identification card which could be visualized in the form of continuously updated hologram. The identification card interacts directly with the owners emotional state composed of the six different channels seen below.

Anyspacewhatever

In this publication iconography each artist was assigned an icon derived from their work. They were used systematically to track their interaction(s) in the Guggenheim, New York. The icons were also incorporated into the publication. The icon below is a meta icon, a result of the collaborative process of each artist. The larger the icon the more collaborations with other artists within the exhibition. This was an unrealized design.
